PLAN OF ACTIVATES & EXPENDITURE FOR THE YEAR (2018-19), (2019-20), (2020-21) 3-YEARS
- To make efforts to achieve the objectives as started in the Memorandum of Association of PLGMEA.
- To Endeavour in assisting, cooperating and motivating its members to strive and do their utmost for the boosting and enhancement of Leather Garments & Leather Goods in the largest interest of the nation.
- To encourage Members participation in International Trade & Industry Exhibitions, Fairs and Trade Delegations for promoting Leather Garments & Leather Goods from Pakistan.
- To participate in the Expo Pakistan Exhibition organized by Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) as well as other related local exhibitions.
- To organize interactive meetings of Exporters with concerned Ministers, Secretaries and other Government Officials of Pakistan.
- To organize interactive meetings of Exporters with Consulate & Embassies of Foreign Countries in Pakistan.
- To organize interactive meeting of Exporters with Commercial Attaché and Ambassadors of Pakistan in foreign countries.
- To participate in important Meetings of Concerned Ministries related to Leather Garments & Leather Goods.
- To keep close liaison with Ministry of Commerce, Ministry of Finance and Trade Development Authority of Pakistan Government of Pakistan.
- To keep close liaison with State Bank of Pakistan and other scheduled banks in connection with members’ issues related to export refinance, DLTL Scheme, Research & development etc.
- To forward Proposals for the Annual Federal Budget, Trade Policy and other Business related Legislations.
- To make efforts to facilitate Member exporters by convincing the government to introduce “No Payment No Refund System of Sales Tax’’ to save futile exercise wasting precious time of FBR as well as exporters.
- To make efforts and ensure release of all pending DLTL / DDT Claims of Exporters to ease the severest ever liquidity crunch being faced by the exporters.
- To make efforts for Release of Payment of Customs Rebate Claims & Sales Tax Refund Claims of Exporters on ‘’first-cum-first-served basis’’ so that no injustice is done in this regard.
- To make efforts to convince the government to pay refunds to the exporter at the time of exports proceeds realization to save precious time of FBR and the exporters.
- To make efforts for the rationalization & uniformity of utility charges across all provinces as well as to bring them at par with competing countries.
- To work for acquiring separate status and top priority to Export oriented Industries in the Supply of utilities such as power, gas and water which will lead to increased production capacity and exports.
- To make efforts for providing one window Operation to exporters to avoid interference by Multifarious Agencies as this would finally relieve the exporters.
- To keep and Eagle’s eye on the threshold in accordance with European Union regulations to achieve maximum GSP Plus benefits.
- To make efforts to ensure Compliance and Implementation of the 27 Conventions as well as ILO’s Better Work Programmer for maximum benefits of GSP Plus benefits.
- To double-up efforts for the Setting up of Combined Effluent Treatment Plants (CETPs) in all industrial zones of Karachi to make the city environmentally compliant in a bid to boost country’s exports.
- To ensure timely & fastest dissemination of industry related information to all Members through all possible Channels.
